This position requires competency in digital computer forensics, electronic discovery, and information security. The primary responsibilities of this position are to conduct digital forensic preservations, investigations and basic data recovery. Writing skills are required for providing detailed process reporting to XDD clients and Courts. The Senior Forensic Examiner will be expected to have a solid foundation of technical experience and expertise, possess strong communication skills, and exceed our client expectations related to communication.
The position works internally with other senior level forensic analysts, eDD project managers and management personnel, as well as externally with attorneys and corporate clients. Forensic lab best practices and procedures, evidence handling, and expert opinion(s) will be required. The Senior Forensic Examiner will be responsible for quality of client deliverables, have a CV commensurate with digital forensics expert, assisting with business development, and supporting sales and marketing efforts within the company.
Include the following, though other duties may be assigned.
4. Onsite collections (testimony for Sr. Examiner), including travel, and direct interaction with the client.
Knowledge and experience with the a combination of the following operating systems: Windows, Macintosh, Linux or Linux. Firm understanding of: information systems security, network architecture, physical server and desktop architecture, virtual infrastructure architecture, general database concept, document management concepts. Additionally, a firm understanding of electronic mail systems such as Exchange, GroupWise, Lotus Notes and cloud hosted services.
Experience with computer forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, Oxygen, Cellebrite, IEF, et al.
Must be able to manage multiple projects and maintain a computer forensics lab on a daily basis. The ability to multi-task is critical as you will be responsible for several simultaneous projects. The Senior Forensic Examiner must be very detail-oriented, and must be able to interact with other staff and clients, in person or by phone. Critical thinking, problem solving, precise organization and the ability to endure long working hours is vital.
